Dem Dx highlights important conditions in two ways. Firstly, the list of Differentials in each category is ranked according to global incidence data supplied by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in Seattle, USA. Secondly, any urgent or serious conditions are marked with a red flag
Dem Dx supplies additional information about some symptoms, signs and conditions. Click on the Read More button to access this information
DemDx has over 500 media files that can be accessed through the media button. These include images (eg. X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, spirometry traces) and videos (eg. heart sounds, breath sounds)
Viewing or listening to these files will require an active internet connection. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, media files that you have viewed previously may be available offline
The Differentials button shows the potential diseases and conditions that fit with the symptoms and signs that you have selected at that stage in the patient pathway. As you follow the prompting of DemDx and add additional clinical observations, the number of potential diagnoses will reduce until you reach your presumed diagnosis
DemDx offers a 1 week free trial that starts when you sign up. During this trial you have access to all the functionality and content within DemDx (all specialties, all MCQs). When this trial ends, you can continue to access all specialties through taking out a subscription. Otherwise you will continue to have access to the Respiratory chapter and the MCQs
The option to save a note is currently one we are working hard to allow you to save information on any device type.
The DemDx team is working on making the platform and website more accessible to everyone, as implementing zoom-in functionality, using accessible colours and fonts. We aim to have our product fully compliant with the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
