Homerton NHS Primary and Urgent Care Centre Achieves Faster Consultations & Fewer Escalations with DemDx (2024 - 2025)
We are pleased to share findings from a service evaluation conducted at Homerton NHS Primary and Urgent Care Centre (2024–2025), examining the impact of DemDx within an urgent care setting.
To address increasing patient demand and variability in clinician experience, DemDx was introduced to a team of six paramedics and two Advanced Nurse Practitioners. A pre–post evaluation was carried out, including a time-and-motion study measuring consultation length, time spent on clinical documentation, and escalation to senior clinicians. Clinical assessments were independently reviewed using the RCGP audit framework to evaluate quality and management decisions. A total of 109 observations were recorded.
Following implementation, the study demonstrated 19% faster consultations (an average of 6.6 minutes saved per patient), a significant reduction in clinical escalations, and a 7% improvement in clinical note quality.
These findings highlight the potential for DemDx to support workflow efficiency, improve documentation standards, and reduce reliance on senior escalation within urgent care services.
