Our story
Lorin, our founder, trained as a doctor. She was working alongside a community nurse and realised that if we had a digital tool to support nurses’ decision making, they could determine the initial steps and management of the common conditions encountered in any given clinical setting.
After a few years of development and testing, we found a way of unpacking the clinical reasoning process, making doctors’ additional years of experience and knowledge available to nurses.
DemDx was born.

Our story
Our innovation came from working alongside a community nurse and realising that if we had a digital tool to support nurses’ decision making, they could determine the initial steps and management of the common conditions encountered in any given clinical setting. A tool like that would be empowering those Allied Health Professionals and reducing the reliance on doctors at that stage of patient care. So, after a few years of development and testing, we found a way of unpacking the clinical reasoning process and making doctors’ additional years of experience and knowledge more widely available. DemDx’s clinical reasoning platform was then born to increase frontline clinical responsibility roles for all healthcare professionals, speed up patient pathways and improve overall patient care.
Built by over 100 medical specialists to create 1.5m clinical pathways and 2,800 diagnoses. Over six years, more than 100 medical specialists have together built the DemDx platform. Their healthcare expertise is wrapped up into 15 specialisms, including Urology, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Neurology and Respiratory, Urgent care and Primary Care.
